There are two basic factors of the search engine optimization i.e. on-page optimization and off-page optimization. On-page optimization is a very basic step that the webmasters and SEO professionals should look into.

With the proper use of the on-page optimization techniques you not only rank well your website in the search engines and but also increase the readability of your website. The most important thing in the on-page optimization is the content optimization. Some of the other important on-page optimization techniques include the following.

Title Optimization

The page title is a most important element of a web page. A title should be short but descriptive for your visitors to identify your business and services. Each page of your website should have unique title. Using the same title and Meta tags on every page will simply penalize your website. The title should be appealing and it must contain your targeted keywords and business name.

Meta Description Optimization

The Meta tags such as description and keywords Tags are other important elements of a web page. They are used in the head of the page. The description tag should contain the brief description of your website and focusing on your business and targeted keywords. The Title and the Meta description tags appear in the search results so they should provide the good information about website. Do not offer stuff the description with keywords. Use the keywords in the description naturally.

Meta Keywords Optimization

The website’s contents should be optimized for both the readers and search engines. Do some research and generate targeted and relevant keywords with the Google Adwords Keywords tool. Do not over stuff your Meta keywords tag with the irrelevant keywords.

HTML Tags

It is important to highlight key parts of your web pages and there are some tags that allow you to do so. These tags include HTML tags like H1, H2, H3 and text styles.

Image Optimization

Search engine cannot read the images. You need to optimize the images as search engines have different way to read the images. You need to use some special tags in order to optimize your images. These tags include Alt Text, File Name and Image title.
